“Spread a grateful holiday moment today”
At the holidays, we see a lot of negativity which is kind of mind blowing considering all the media out there advertising how merry the season should be. Why is this?
Perhaps it is because in truth, we just can’t wrap our heads around why one month of the year has to be the happiest month ever. I mean really, there are some awesome months out there like May when we honor our mothers and the flowers are in full bloom, or what about February sure Valentines day is hype but it gives us something to celebrate during one of the toughest winter months. Can’t we have a month of merry then?
This season reminds those who have loved ones they have lost that there will be an empty place at the table. It brings tears to those who have no money to buy into the gift giving because it is difficult enough to put food on the table. There are those who are out there alone and all this merriment does is isolate them more.
So, let’s step back for a minute and positively identify what we can salvage out of this negative spin on merriment. This is the time of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and the longest night. Often it is in our darkest moments that we are able to see things most clearly and find a light at the end of our proverbial tunnel. Let’s use this season to reflect on what we have to be grateful for and instead of spreading the cheer let’s spread the gratitude. It is a higher vibration when you think about it.
I am grateful for each and every one of you. I am grateful for The Wellness Universe. I am grateful for my family and friends. I am grateful that even though there may be empty places at the table I was blessed to have that person in my life and to have learned so much from them. I am grateful that even though I am not wealthy, I am rich in spirit and warm in the heart.
Spread a grateful holiday moment today! Blessings!
